The novel that I have chosen is 'The Prisoner of Zenda' by Anthony Hope. The moral value in the novel is responsibility. This can be seen in the character, Rudolf Rassendyll, who is asked to impersonate King Rudolf V, who is drugged by the evil Duke Michael. Rudolf Rassendyll falls in love with Princess Flavia but he knows that it is not honourable to marry Princess Flavia because he is not the true King. He feels that it is not right to leave the King to die at also the hands of Duke Michael. He risks his own life many times, to save the King because of his sense of responsibility.
